A quick note about low-resolution proofs
Please note that low-resolution web
proofs are created from the original
raw images and most often have been reviewed
and edited only for framing/cropping
with the occasional edits for lighting,
contrast, etc., when warranted, prior to
posting. All high-resolution images are
given a thorough review and edit prior to
printing to assure the best print image
possible. Due to the large number of proofs
I often post for any particular shoot and
the time it takes to review and post each
one, the low-resolution web proofs rarely,
if ever (mainly due to their size), reflect
the ultimate print quality.
Photo
proofs are
usually posted at low-resolution (reduced
image size). The primary reason for posting
low-resolution proofs is quick upload
time at my end and quick download
time at your end. The
original high-resolution images are often
2,500k or larger in size, where the
low-resolution proofs are generally between
50-90k.
I try to
find a happy balance between display quality
and quick upload/download time, and this
sometimes results in image pixilation to one
degree or another. Any pixilation is a
direct result of posting the proofs in a
low-resolution (reduced image size) format and
nothing else.
This may
best be explained by the photo samples
below, the first showing a standard
proof in black & white, and the other showing a high
resolution color segment of the same image.
